Nancy's Painted Silk Regency Gown
My daughter got on a designing tangent, and drew designs for costumes and room settings for a number of fantasy parties (fantasy, as in, one can only fantasize about being able to afford one!). When she showed me the drawings, I pointed at 'Autumn' (shown above). And said 'You know, we could make that with the Sensibility Regency pattern, and just leave off the sleeves.' And so we did...
Kelly's "Music Man" Costumes
When I found out that the drama department in the school where I teach was doing “The Music Man” as their production for the year, I knew I had to get involved! I had a lengthy collection of patterns from the Edwardian/Titanic/Teens era, including quite a few of the Sense & Sensibility patterns.
Kathleen's Romantic & "Beatrix" Blouses
I have finished my first blouse from the Romantic Era pattern and the Beatrix Shirtwaist pattern. I love them both! They went togehter very easily and look wonderful when done. I already have my second blouse of each pattern in the planning. Enjoy the pictures! I hope I have done your pattern drafting even
Bethany's Regency Gown
I took out about 4 inches from center of the sleeve pattern. The fabric is fairly stiff so it would have been too much ‘poof.’ I love how it has that natural train in the back. I also really loved making this dress because I did not have to alter the length at all!
Living History Regency Gowns
My daughters and I may be volunteering as docents at museum house tour in our county for the 1800-1820 time period. I bought Simplicity’s version, of the pattern and wanted to show you my first efforts. The white dress (mine) is made of a flat and fitted cotton sheet set I found at Goodwill
Victoria's Regency Crossover Gown
Thank you so much for your wonderful patterns and website; my sisters and I have really enjoyed them I made this dress out of a yellow striped seersucker fabric. I really enjoyed working with this pattern. The instructions where very well written, and I found it even easier to make than the regency
Honey's Regency Dress & Doll Dress
When I first visited this website, I was looking at the show and tell section, and someone had made their two little girls dresses with this fabric. I thought they were so cute, and I was very excited to find the same fabric at Wal*Mart. Here is Honey in her new dress,
Girls' Regency Ensembles
I simply love all of the Sense and Sensibility patterns, especially because I am permitted to use them professionally. When a friend commissioned me to make a dress for her little girl, I knew exactly where to find the perfect pattern. Her description of the ‘dream outfit’ fit the Regency dress and pelisse closely,
Loral's Tween Regency Dress
I had ordered the pattern awhile ago and got some excellent advice on the board about which size to order for my quickly growing 11yo dd. She’s growing so fast that she outgrew the muslin I started working on for her to wear to a bridal shower. Three days before the shower I had to
Kitty's First Regency Dress
Well, here it is. My first Regency dress! I made a few changes to the pattern to make it more modern and my style, raising the neck line a little, and shortening the skirt. I also had to make all the Miss Petite changes to the bodice. I bought the fabric early in the
Regency Wedding Party
I absolutely love your site! I bought the Regency era pattern to make my bridesmaid dresses, and loved it so much that I did my wedding dress out of that pattern, too. We bought the Elegant Lady’s Closet pattern as well to get the 3/4 length sleeves. We just used the Regency gown pattern
Little Girls' Regency Dresses
I’ve been busy sewing some little girl dresses, some of them are from the girls’ regency pattern. You check more of them out at my blog post. ~ Erin Darling!
Sisters' Regency Dresses
My sister and I just finished our first Regency dresses this week, and thought we’d share. Mine (the red one) was made using Jennie Chancey’s original pattern. The only change I made was to gather all the way across the front of the bodice, for a ‘fan’ effect. I also made some piping to
Jane Austen Dresses
I am so excited to start the dresses for my younger girls! The other photos are of my students in my Jane Austen Class and then my oldest daughter in blue and her friend in a pale green, made from the Simplicity pattern of your Regency Dress! Thanks again for the wonderful service and

HannahBeth's Regency Gown
Hello! I received your Elegant Ladies Closet and Regency Underthings patterns for my 16th birthday this past December, and was so elated! A dear friend of mine and I are planning to do a Regency challenge for all of 2009, wearing only period correct Regency clothing the whole year, so I got to sewing
Heidi's Regency Gown
Hello there! I wanted to share with you some photos of a dress I made using your Simplicity Pattern 4055. I have worked with several of the Simplicity historical patterns and yours is BY FAR the easiest to work with. It only took me about ten hours (including cutting), and I did not have
Hannah's Regency Drawstring Dress
We got the Regency dress pattern last year and Mom made two, which she ended up giving to me. But I finally decided that it was high time to make my own! After searching through my fabric stash for just the right fabric, I pulled out an off-white curtain that I had gotten
Melinda's Jane Austen Dress
When the opportunity presents itself, I love to help teen girls learn to sew or improve their skills. Last spring I was able to use the S&S Regency pattern with one of those girls. Melinda, like me, loves Jane Austen movies. We struck up a conversation about movies that led to a fun week
